The 21 Thinking Cards

Issue 1 of Five Ideas to Change the World outlines a simple creative process that anyone can use.

Click on the "21 Thinking Cards" tab of the Five Ideas App to review all 21 Thinking Cards.

These could be useful as prompts to support brainstorming, business planning or other creative activities.

Here is a list of the 21 different viewpoints:

  1. Think about it in a totally new industry.
  2. Turn it backwards, upside down, in reverse.
  3. Think about it in space.
  4. Try to think about how it would work in the animal kingdom.
  5. Think about it underwater and in other environmental conditions.
  6. Think about it in different vehicles.
  7. Think about it 200 years or 1000 years or 5 years in the future.
  8. Think about it 20, 50 or 1000 years ago.
  9. Think about it if there was no money or other form of currency.
  10. Think about it if all the barriers were removed.
  11. Think about new barriers that could be created to stop this idea.
  12. Think about how the idea 'feels' with the different senses.
  13. How would this idea be presented in a magazine or newspaper article?
  14. What new laws would this idea generate?
  15. How would this idea perform in zero gravity?
  16. How would this idea change if you used completely different materials?
  17. How would the idea change in different geographical locations?
  18. How would the idea look if it was made with software?
  19. How would the idea be evaluated on a personality test?
  20. Would you make friends with this idea on a social networking site?
  21. What if this idea had children?

Enjoy!

About Five Ideas

The Book: Five Ideas to Change the World: Issue One was released as a kindle edition in May 2011 and a paperback shortly after that.

I intend to write 5 books in the series, all of which will look at different angles of changing the world while also having a bit of a laugh and researching things that many of us might find interesting. From growing your own vegetables to augmented reality and anything in between.

This book debuted at #7 in the small business section on Amazon.com and holds a 5 star rating.

The books are about creativity, ideas, innovation, humor and technology. If they were too serious then they wouldn't be any fun to write!

Please make use of the 21 Thinking Cards contained in the app. You might find a use for them as a prompt for creative tasks or just for a browse from time to time when you need to find a different angle on a problem.

Enjoy the App.
Pete
